What is a composite chart?
A composite chart is built from the midpoints between two people's planets. Rather than describing either person, it describes the relationship as its own entity — what the pairing is for, how it feels from inside, and what it tends to produce.
What's the difference between a composite chart and synastry?
Synastry compares two charts to each other — how your planets touch theirs. A composite merges the two into a single third chart. Most astrologers use both: synastry for the dynamic between two people, composite for the character of the relationship itself.
Why can't I see composite houses?
Composite houses depend on the composite Ascendant, which is derived from both people's Ascendants — and those need exact birth times. When both times are present this tool shows the composite Ascendant; when they aren't, it shows planets only rather than inventing an angle.
Which composite method does this use?
The midpoint method — the circular midpoint of each planetary pair. It's the most widely used approach. The alternative, the Davison relationship chart, uses the midpoint in time and space instead and produces a genuinely different chart.
